The three Christian Martyrs

November 26, 2010

Now the third one has died in the hospital as a result of his injuries (Malak Shenouda).

The three Christian Martyrs killed by the Egyptian authorities in Egypt:
(Giza incidents November 2010)
1-Macarius Gad Shaker
2-Melad Malak Mikhael
3-Malak Shenouda

(Probably there are more dead bodies hiden by the police forces.)

Plus more than 60 injured.

No one can claim now that the incidents are sporadic individual events. This is a clear persecution of Christians in Egypt not only by fellow citizens but also by the authorities and government.

This is according to the prophecy in Revelation 12:17 "And the dragon  was enraged with the woman, and he went to make war with the rest of her offsprings..."

Do you want to perform miracles?

November 5, 2010

Once some monks asked St. Pachomius to pray for them so that they may be granted the power to perform miracles, and he replied and said:

If you guide a pagan to Christ - then you raised a dead

If you guide unbeliever to Christ - you healed a blind

If you make the stingy a generous - you cured a withered hand

If you make the lazy an active - you healed a paralytic

If you make the angry meek - then you cast out a deamon

The place where they rested 2000 years ago, St Mercurius Church

August 2, 2010

The place where they rested 2000 years ago

Mother Erini was a nun in the nunary of St. Mercurius in Old Cairo, Egypt. She was the head of the nunary. One day she smelled a sweet smell of incense. She tried to find the source and discovered it was an old house in the garden. When she came close she saw an apparition of St. Mary, the mother of God. St. Mary told her to tell the Pope (at that time was pope Cyril VI, Pope of Alexandria) that she wanted him to build her a church at that location because it was where she rested with her Son, our Lord Jesus Christ when they came to Egypt nearly 2000 years ago. Mother Erini went to the Pope and told him and he agreed and told her it would be built when God provides money for building the church. Time passed until four years later, in 1968, when there was enough money but it was decided that a hall would be built at that place for the visitors of the nunary and so they started to build it. One day at 4 a.m. the telephone rang in the nunary and...

The Sneeze

June 7, 2010

THE SNEEZE
They walked in tandem, each of the ninety-two students filing into the already crowded auditorium. With their rich maroon gowns flowing and the traditional caps, they looked almost as grown up as they felt.

Dads swallowed hard behind broad smiles, and Moms freely brushed away tears.

This class would NOT pray during the commencements, not by choice, but because of a recent court ruling prohibiting it.

The principal and several students were careful to stay within the guidelines allowed by the ruling. They gave inspirational and challenging speeches, but no one mentioned divine guidance and no one asked for blessings on the graduates or their families.

The speeches were nice, but they were routine until the final speech received a standing ovation.

A solitary student walked proudly to the microphone. He stood still and silent for just a moment, and then, it happened.

All 92 students, every single one of them, suddenly SNEEZED!!!!

The student on stage simply looked at the audience and said,

'GOD BLESS YOU'

And he walked off the stage...

The audience exploded into applause. This graduating class had found a unique way to invoke God's blessing on their future with or without the court's approval.

Isn't this a wonderful story? Pass it...

The Ultimate Wisdom

June 2, 2010

What is wisdom? Some people think that wisdom is equivalent to intelligence and others think it is skill...etc. But wisdom is to set yourself toward the correct destination. If you are a student you may think that succeeding in your exams and graduating is the wisdom. If you are working or have a business you may think that being successful in your job or business is the wisdom. You may set some goals either social, financial or any other goal in life, but do you think this is wisdom? The answer is the story that tells that a grandfather asked his grandson, "What would you like to happen in your school? He answered and said, "I want to pass the exams and get high scores. Then he asked him all this questions and the answer was to grow to graduate, to have a position in work to marry and have a family, to have children and the children grow up...etc. And he asked him one last question, then what?" and he replied and then I will die! Thus does one becomes wise when he seek any of these goals? Probably you are intelligent or skillful. Maybe you accumulated good experience... [More]

A KINGDOM THAT SHALL NOT BE SHAKEN

May 23, 2010

“Tremble before Him, all the earth. Say among the nations, ‘The Lord reigns. The world also is firmly established. It shall not be moved,’” Psalm 96:9-10.

After the fall of Man, the earth became unstable, for Satan wanted to sift the people and move them. “Simon, Simon! Indeed Satan has asked for you, that he may sift you as wheat,” Luke 22:31. And the people were moved by fear and anxiety, but the Lord established the world and not a grain of wheat fell out. “As grain is sifted in a sieve, yet, not the smallest grain shall fall to the ground,” Amos 9:9.

There were times when the whole world, except for a few people, denied the true God. In the time of the flood and the pious Noah, He saved eight souls with the water, by establishing them with the wood of the Ark and the water of the flood, in the likeness of the Cross. In the time of Abraham, the father of the fathers, the Lord established him with the faith and the Covenant. The presence of the Angel saved Daniel....

Unshaken Kingdom

May 23, 2010

 Unshaken Kingdom
